The Boston Herald editorial team writes in support of eliminating the cap on the number of charters in Massachusetts. In the short term, they suggest eliminating the cap in low-performing districts and erasing the requirement for new charters to be established charter school operators.

The Herald writes that, "Gov. Deval Patrick and the Legislature ought to begin an effort to further ease the unnecessary restrictions that continue to limit the educational options of some of the state’s neediest kids."
